One of the hardest things at over 50 is getting back into the social scene after leaving a long and often debilitating relationship. But it can be done.
First, you need to open your heart by healing the pain of previous hurts and removing the fear of being hurt again. Love can only come to an open heart.
Second, refocus on the positives. Exes can say the most hurtful things which can leave you scarred if you don’t shake them off. Stop dwelling on what was said to you in the past. Focus instead on your true self, your strengths.
Thirdly, remove the limitations you’ve set for yourself. Ooh… I am too old, I should focus on my grandchildren, I don’t have time, and so on. All these false limitations act as criticism that keeps you from getting back into the swing of things.
