Turning “OLD” into “GOLD”

Have you ever said to yourself, while looking in the mirror brushing your teeth. Am I OLD and worthless, is that me?

Lets imagine that you can turn OLD, into GOLD! Because There is gold between them ears partner! You’re not worthless, your value is in your perception!

Life is a state of consciousness. But most people walk around in a state of trance. They’re just breathing. However, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” You are what you think. So don’t stop breathing but start consciously thinking.

Everything you have and do is strictly in accordance with your consciousness. As Barbara Streisand wisely says, “The outside world mirrors what we think of ourselves.”

You should acknowledge what is right with you every day, and the good will grow. Sometimes it is difficult to acknowledge the good, when your mind still sees incompleteness and imperfection in many areas of your life.

I’m reminded of the often-quoted statement, “What the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” It sounds like a simple process. And it is, but it is not easy.

80% of people don’t listen, don’t care, and don’t get it. Whenever I teach, I know that only 20% of my students will really commit to changing their lives.

A secret has been staring us in the face for years: If we allow others to make our decisions for us, we become voluntary slaves. The wool has been pulled over our eyes by the media.

Pick up a paper, turn on the news, you see what they want us to see: Work or Strike, Unions or Bosses, Jobs, Interest Rates, Accidents, Floods, Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Tidal Waves, Starvation, Death, and the mother of all: Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Here’s the bright side: there is a savvy crowd, whom are called Super Hero Boomer networkers. These individuals look after themselves, and respect their associates for doing the same. You can join us. But you must decide that you can take care of yourself with the right knowledge and support.

Multimillionaire athletes are paid for what they do. But they could not do it without a team to back them up. The SUPER star could not function if there was no team, or no one to play with. You can be a “superstar” with a team that respects you if you can take care of yourself. Maybe you’ve heard of grabbing the brass ring.

The brass ring is within you. In fact, pardner, the brass ring is made of gold. You can grab it and never let go. By constantly working on yourself to be a better, giving, sharing, loving man or woman, you have all the resources already to be that “superstar”. in your life You are made of the right stuff. You only need to access it.

Most of us associate prosperity with money. But when we look deeper, it’s secondary to having an elevated quality of life. Heaven high! So, let’s start now. Start! That’s the key. If you don’t start, you will never achieve success.

Once you DO start, the whole universe works with you. This is the immutable principle of cause and effect.

Dangerfields Says Respect Thy Elders

Rodney Dangerfield the late comedian Was a very funny man and he played “I get no respect” to the hilt.

he got a lot of respect from comedians because he was Brilliant portraying that character but now I see a lot of Boomers portraying the same character but not funny, because they are playing the victim.

Poor me I get no respect Just because someone has managed to live past 60+ does not mean they automatically have respect from everyone else.

We’ve all been subjected to the age-old belief to ‘respect thy elders.”

My question is this: What exactly is it about being old that makes you think you deserve respect?

What I find ridiculous about this belief is it generalizes a single characterization over an entire subset of the populace.

Generalizing one description over such a wide group of people is typically a no-no for intelligent people who have the brainpower to know better than to think

just because a person falls under a certain umbrella means they must also fit a narrow mold of other beliefs and categorizations.

Similarly, it would be ridiculous to assume that being a young adult automatically makes someone a drug-using party animal. It is absurd to assume being old means someone is sage and responsible.

Of course, being of an advanced age can gift someone with the necessary characteristics to be capable of garnering respect.

And, it is equally possible for someone to live past the age of 60 and still be a complete A-hole.

Essentially, people should not automatically be rewarded because they are old, because being advanced in years does not inherently imbue in someone the characteristics that make someone worthy of respect.

People should always be courteous and polite to others, including the elderly, but respect is something people should have to earn by proving they possess an admirable ability or quality, such as being responsible and hardworking.

Granting someone the honor of your respect is something one should not hand out willy-nilly. Respect should be earned.

While everyone should always treat others with civility, respect should be something that is more closely guarded. Make sure someone proves they are truly worthy of respect before granting it to them. Do not assume someone deserves respect because of old age.

Now, let’s change from “I get no respect” to, I will be, truly worthy of your respect. It works for me and it will for you too. B Bop

3 Ways To Turn Your Biggest Regrets Into Your Biggest Wins

3 Ways To Turn Your Biggest Regrets Into Your Biggest Wins

3 Ways To Turn Your Biggest Regrets Into Your Biggest Wins

As Ferris Bueller wisely said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around for a while, you could miss it.”

Great advice for a seventeen your old. Potentially lethal advice for anyone over the age of fifty.

For lots of baby boomers, stopping to look around at life can make you realize that you’ve missed out – on a lot. Which then, of course, can make you feel pretty horrible. Pondering your regrets is a quick way to a whole host of trouble.

But there is a way around it.

If you’re smart, you can learn how to take some of those big life regrets and turn them into your biggest wins. And you can do it right now.

Start Making More Time. One of the biggest regrets baby boomers have is that they didn’t spend more time with the people they care about most – family and friends. By carving out time to have family over to your home, entertaining friends, or making a trip to see a relative, you can ensure that this regret doesn’t stay with you for long.

It’s Never Too Late. If you’re able to read this, it’s not too late – for anything. Want to travel the world? Do it. That marathon you thought about in your twenties? Endurance increases with age. That car, house, toy you’ve been thinking about for decades? Now’s the time. And before you let your mind fill with excuses, stop right there and start asking yourself “how”. “How” is one of the most powerful questions – it will lead you to answers that will not only get you excited about life again, but that will ensure those regrets are long gone in your rearview mirror.

Don’t Stop Doing What You Love. While retirement might be in your future, don’t give in to the “that’s it” mindset. There’s always something to do – and your experience, expertise, and talent is needed now more than ever. Many baby boomers have regrets about not following their dreams, but there’s no reason why you can’t still follow them. If you enjoy your work, the longer you do it – the longer you’ll live.

There’s no way to change the past. But, by looking at your regrets, you can learn what to do differently right now. If a certain regret keeps popping up in your head, face it head on and do something about today. Regrets live in the past, but you don’t. Keep going.

The Problem With Old Farts And How To Fix It

The Problem With Old Farts And How To Fix It

The Problem With Old Farts And How To Fix It

Have you ever looked around and thought to yourself, I clearly must be in the wrong place, I’m decades younger than all of these people!

First off, if you have had the same experience only you replaced the word “younger” with “older”, keep reading. This is for you too.

Whichever end of the spectrum you are on, there’s an instant desire to get out of wherever it is you are. This is engrained in us even as young kids, separated at school by our birthdates.

Then, it is perpetuated as we get older, with instant judgment being passed if you are dating someone “too old” or “too young”. And still there’s more, thanks to the way advertising teaches us to “look for signs” of aging – and, if you see any, quick – fix it!

For whatever reason, society wants us to play by age rules. Because of that, we are constantly reminded and, subconsciously or consciously, thinking of it.

As you get older, however, you realize the superficiality of age. The old adage, “age is just a number”, really is a lesson we all need to take seriously.

The truth is that old fart you see over there is probably one of the most interesting, valuable people you’ll ever meet. Rather than writing off people as “too old”, we need to be writing them in as “too valuable” to pass up.

By taking time to set aside age and to really get to know someone, you discover that there’s a whole world of fascinating people just waiting to be met.

Of course, there will be a few old farts that really are just that, but taking the chance of finding the gold behind the old is one you should challenge yourself to take.

Age Discrimination No More By Thom Mcfadden

How old are you? I am 4 and a half. are you old? this little Tow head Sherlock Holmes asked. Why do you ask. do I look old? Yes kinda, but you don’t act sick she replied. do old people act sick around you, I asked. yea kinda, my PaPa is all ways sick, can’t play anymore, just watches TV, My mother is afraid that he will make me sick. ByBy I have to go Now, just as her babysitter or nanny called her to go. as I said good by, I could see that the nanny was concerned as she grabbed her hand and walked away quickly.

Whatta you SAYA SAYERS!

Thom here. Thom McFadden. Actor, Author, Grandfather and Known as Hollywood’s “Coach to the Stars”.

When it comes to age discrimination and stereotypes, young kids always assume that “old people” just sit around watching soap operas all day. Or complain about their aches and pains and try their best to acquire each and every tennis, baseball, basketball, or toy that happens to fall onto their lawn.

Those ideas are just plain ludicrous. Right? Join Me, and let’s Change Their Perception
One thing that you can help them learn, is that their view of elders and older adults might be wrong. Children and young people look at “old people” from a certain perspective: they view them like their grandparents.

If they had grandparents that would sit around and watch reruns of soap operas and old daytime TV shows all day, that is their basis of what “old farts are like”. We’re not all like that. Right? We can change that.

Show them that the older generation isn’t stagnant. We are active, happy, and involved. We can lead healthy lives that are full of passion and purpose. We are friendly, open-minded, and – yet- also have strong belief systems. We can teach them things that we’ve learned and they can teach us about what we can learn from them.

Don’t Lose Your Mind By Thom Mcfadden Baby Boomer Expert

Have you ever thought that you were losing your Inquiring mind? Boy, I sure have.

Whata you SAY-A Sayers. Thom here Thom McFadden, Coach to the Stars. Thanks for letting me keep you informed.

The Inquiring Mind
If You can sustain your interest in what you’re doing, you’re an extremely fortunate person. What you see very frequently in boomers professional lives, and perhaps in their emotional life as well, is that they lose interest in the third act. You sort of get tired and indifferent, and, sometimes, defensive.

You lose your capacity for astonishment — and that’s a great loss because the world is a very astonishing place. What I feel fortunate about is that I’m still astonished, that things still amaze me. I think that that’s the great benefit of being in the arts, where the possibility for learning never disappears.

Curiosity is heavily associated with all aspects of human development, in which derives the process of learning and desire to acquire knowledge and skill.

WORK YOUR CURIOSITY MUSCLE. you are old when you stop using it.

Here is a cool bonus.

7 Ways to Shake Up Your Life

1. Start saying “yes” instead of “no”.
2. Don’t allow your feelings to dictate your behavior.
3. Take a trip to somewhere you haven’t been before, even if it down the block.
4. Spend time with people who are different from you.
5. learn something new food, or learn or a new skill.
6. Live in the present, not the future, or the past.
7. Do something different – that scares you – every day.
